Initiation Course

People who want to learn the basics of paragliding.

It is not necessary to have flight experience, however if you have functional diversity, please let our team know.

• 5 days: Pro and Premium: Take-off, fly approach and landing in calm atmospheric conditions and with radio assistance.
• 1 day: Contact: Initiation and approach to the world of flying

For the course it is necessary to wear hiking boots (never sandals or sneakers). It is recommended to wear a long-sleeved shirt.

The development of the course consists of 2 parts:

Theoretical:

• Basic notions of aerodynamics(Classroom)
• Basic Notions of Aerology (Classroom)
• Basic Notions of Meteorology (Classroom)
• Radio use
• Takeoffs, flight approach and landing (Classroom)

Practical:

• Inflation practice and paraglider control on flat terrain or slight slope (only in 5 and 2 day courses).
• Take-off and landing practices.
• High altitude flights from 300 to 1350 m altitude difference. (only in 5-day and 2-day courses)

3 phases of paragliding flight:

1st phase: Inflation and control of the paraglider.
They are performed on a flat or slightly sloping terrain. Here we learn the different parts that make up the paraglider and begin to perform the inflations by running.

2nd phase: Take-off and landing.
In this phase we go to a 12 meters slope. As we already control the inflation, the only thing we have to do is to run down the slope and the glider will make us fly in a straight line until landing. All these practices help us to acquire flight automatisms.

3rd phase: High Altitude Flights
We already know how to take off and land, we will make 10 flights of longer duration and slope, in which we practice the approach to the landing field, being able to land in specific places (only in 5 and 2 days course).

Student safety

• It is important to emphasize that all flights during the course are guided by radio. Regardless of having explained the takeoff, flight and landing, the student carries a radio so that the piloting actions will be monitored and corrected if necessary.
• You will always have two instructors watching you and at your disposal: One will guide you at take-off until the middle of the flight and, from there, the instructor who is at the landing will guide you.
• If the flying conditions are not ideal for beginners, such as turbulent, cross, thermal or strong wind, etc., we will wait until it gets better or we will do it the next day. We only fly if the conditions are ideal for the course.
• The course will be terminated at the end of the 10 flights, if not completed , they can be recovered on agreed dates.
