Refresher Course
Prefect your flight
Pilots who want to be initiated in thermal flight, taking advantage of thermal and dynamic currents, to make longer flights or stay longer in the air, taking advantage of the weather conditions, as well as piloting techniques and different descent maneuvers will be taught.
Pilots who have completed the progression course and have at least 10 flights.

- Use of the performance tandem only if it is necessary to reinforce the phase in which the explained techniques of thermals, ears, etc. will be applied.
- Theoretical and practical training.
- Video filming to reinforce learning
- Flight Control Book (reflects the flights performed).
- Member of the free flight club TandemTeam.
- APPI 3 pilot explore qualification equivalent to F.A.I parapro 3 (theoretical-practical exam).
- Duration: 5 days.
- Teaching hours: More than 40 hours (usually from 9-13h and 17-21h)
- Elevation gain : 1350m.
- 8 flights or more.
- Performance of at least 5 takeoffs and/or different zones (conditioned by weather).
- Flight with reduced groups, so that with a personalized attention the students can achieve the best flights that their particular level of flying and their motivation allows them.
- Instructors will fly with you and point out the ascents or guide you on the way. We do not limit ourselves to static guidance from a fixed point.
- Pilot discharged from APPI
The development of the Advanced course is made up of 2 parts:
Theoretical:
- Aerodynamics: How turbulence affects, consequences and solutions.
- Aerology: Turbulence, thermal, dynamics and terrain reading
- Meteorology: Learn how to make a forecast and compare with actual observation.
- Different take-off and landing techniques in U, S and 8.
Practical:
- Inverted inflation and paraglider control practices
- Take-off and landing practice in different aerological conditions.
- Flight in conditions of thermal lift, dynamics or restitution.
- Simulation of turbulence: Folded.
- Management of the 3 axes: vertical, horizontal and yaw
- Small initiation to cross country
What will the course be like?
Qualification Completion of the full course
- Preparation for FGRFA3 - APPI 3
The complete course will be considered as finished at the end of the 10 flights. If they are not completed, they can be recovered on agreed dates.
Level 3 is not completed within the course. Doing Initiation, Progression and Proficiency, usually add up to 28 flights. You have to reach 30 flights. You have to take the theoretical exam (at the end of the course) and pass the practical exam (outside the course).
The degree you are awarded is certified by APPI. Here we explain the advantages of obtaining this title.
In the Aragonese Federation will also be collected the certification achieved, as long as it is federated.
